Meet The Makers 🌸 BTS with Ayushi

Posted by Sourita Songvilay on

For the past 3 years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with the families in India who make all of our AYUSHI pieces. Every one of these businesses is family-run and I wanted to give you a little sneak peek behind the scenes and into the spaces where your clothes come to life.

Our main supplier is a family-run business based in Rajasthan, India. They have just 6 sewing machines in a small warehouse, where the men cut and sew each of our pieces.

Whenever I spend time here, we inevitably end up drinking LOTS of chai and creating designs together. It really is a family affair, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and everyone in between dropping by, working together and sitting down for lunch.

And the lunch is often one of my favourite Indian meals… THALI! 🌸🍛

Over the years, we’ve built close relationships with around 3–5 suppliers across India. We’ve been working together for the last 3–4 years and have all become close friends & connections I look forward to reconnecting with every year I return to India.

When you create clothing, you end up spending a LOT of time together, chatting, laughing, talking business, sharing ideas and, of course, drinking even more chai! ☕️

They’ve become much more than just suppliers. They’re our clothes friends, and some of the people I most look forward to reconnecting with every time I’m back in India.

And that’s one of my favourite things about AYUSHI.

When you support AYUSHI, you’re supporting these families, their businesses and the people behind every piece we make. ❤️

I hope you loved this little peek behind the scenes! If you ever have any questions about our teams in India, or want to know more about how your AYUSHI pieces are made, feel free to send me a message.

Lots of love,
Tori xxx
